  • Last day in work

Hi Is it me or has it been a hard year? Personally, it has been a good year, lots of fun, more than my fair share of holidays and a fairly hefty rise. All this is clouded by what seems to be a cloud of doom and gloom over the world. Whatever your politics or beliefs, the world seems a smaller yet more dysfunctional place than ever before. Perhaps I am just geting old? Good luck to you all in 2006. Let's look to make planet earth a better place for ALL in 2006. Take care and be happy! Goose
  • Shop Happy this Christmas

One week to go until the big day (that's Christmas for those of you who have been asleep for the last three months) and still the shopping list is getting longer!

What amazes me is how miserable everyone is when Christmas shopping. If you don't like doing it, DON'T! Supermarkets should employ happy police and throw anyone out who doesn't smile at least once during their visit. I went there on Sunday to pick up the boss from work, and was amazed to find that everyone shopping was really down. One snapped at a member of staff for being in the way "Why do you fill the shelves up when there are shoppers in the store", it was probably the same person who stocks up for the 10 days the shops are shut and clears the pickle shelf every 10 seconds.

My plea to you all during this last week before the holiday, whatever your beliefs - remember what it is all about - peace and goodwill to all - be happy!

    Take care

  • Cooking

Hi The hardest thing about cooking has to be ensuring everything is ready at the same time! Meat cooked, veg is still raw and I am no longer hungry! Why doesn't someone crate a recipe book that sorts all the timing out for you! I would do it myself but I only know two recipes! Damn, the chicken is burnt now....is macdonalds open? Goose
  • On the move?

  • The Joy of Christmas

    Hi
I went to my eldest daughters Christmas concert last night - it was fabulous to see so many talented young people. Why don't you ever see that in the news? I would rather watch hours of talented people (what ever their ages) rather than hour of smoke erupting from a fire and everyone saying what a big bang it was.
At the concert, we were given a slide show of pictures representing the events of the year - good and bad. It was amazing to see how much has happened during 2005 - good and bad. It will certainly be one to remember!

  • What fire?

Why is that when something goes wrong the first thing people do is think about blame and suing each other? I am all for real carelessness being punished, but let's find out the facts first. Maybe the fire in Hemel Hemsted could have been 100 times worse if it wasn't for something that the people on the ground did. Perhaps the accident was unavoidable and no-ones fault. Having an open investigation without fear of thousands of law suits is the only real way anyone is going to learn from this. Everyone affected should have insurance to cover their losses - that is what it is for. As for those saying that the fire crews were badly equiped - what nonsense. I think they did an admiral job. If every fire service had to be equiped for every possible event, there would be no money left for education, armed services, invading foreign countries.... now that's a thought....

  • My first blog

    Hi
They say you never forget your first time, well lets hope so!

What a strange time of year? Lots to look forward to, especially if you have kids, yet a time for reflection. My wife and I have both lost one parent over the last few years and find this time of year a strange mix of fun and sadness. Weird.
I hope you all have a great Christmas and a peaceful new year. The second bit is some dream eh?
